In late 2019, the fatal coronavirus outbreak was discovered in Wuhan, China. The disease has since infected thousands of Chinese and later spread across the globe. Since February 2020, TCP Group has monitored the COVID-19, as later named by the World Health Organization, and has realized that the pandemic would seriously culminate in a far-reaching effect. With operations across countries and determination to fight the crisis, TCP Group has formulated a dedicated taskforce to provide hospital officials with support and donated over 100 million baht to quell the calamity.
In February 2020, TCP Group allocated a 54-million-baht donation to charitable agencies that tackled the pandemic in Wuhan, China. In March 2020, another 50-million-baht sum was approved by the board of directors and distributed to organizations and medical workers in Thailand and Southeast Asia. The focus of the taskforce has been to enable the medical communities to safely and effectively screen and treat patients to cut the spread of the virus, leading to the reduction in infection rates eventually. Our efforts have also been to fully leverage the capabilities of our people, products and services to promptly support the medical communities in their quest to curb COVID-19.
