TCP Group, the manufacturer and distributor of Kratingdaeng (Red Bull), Ready, Som Plus, Sponsor, Mansome, Mansome Vitamin Water, Hi!, Puriku, Sun Snack, and Warrior, has held its first forum for sustainability development titled ‘Collaborative Partnership for Sustainability’. This forum facilitated knowledge exchange and discussion to drive new sustainability approaches among strategic partners, focusing on carbon neutrality, circular economy, and water sustainability to match the new company purpose: ‘Energizing a Better World for All’.

Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, gave the opening speech entitled ‘Reimagine the Future of Thailand with Green Economy’ and emphasized: “The government has been focusing on driving the country through the Bio-Circular-Green Economy or BCG Model, to establish a new S-Curve for Thailand. We are also moving towards a low-carbon society and focusing on preserving natural resources and the environment. The government cannot achieve these goals without collaboration from the private sector, educational institutions, academic sector, and civil society. We must think together and work together, sharing responsibility to change the way we live and maximize resource utilization. In addition, we must set new directions towards the initiative: ‘Being Eco-Friendly is the New Way of Life’ by moving forward and leaving no one behind, in line with global development plans. The ministry is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.”

Dr. Napat Jatusripitak, Managing Director, ThailandFuture Foundation, outlined the discussion topic ‘Sustainability as the Core of Economic Recovery & New Value-Creation’: “COVID-19 has severely affected long-standing vulnerability issues in the Thai economic system. As the global trend heads towards international sustainability standards, we need concrete, sustainable, development concepts to revive and develop the modern economy. Technology inclusion and innovation will play a pivotal role in creating added value and monitoring players' socio-economic activities. Most importantly, the government needs to focus on the regulatory framework so all parties can grow together in a sustainable way.”

Mr. Saravoot Yoovidhya, Chief Executive Officer, TCP Group, delivered his speech on ‘TCP’s Journey: Overcoming Challenges for Sustainable Business Transformation’: “Today's forum intends to create strategic collaboration between partners in all sectors to overcome challenges and drive sustainability on key issues: Circular Economy, Carbon Neutrality, and Water Sustainability. We should collaborate, share resources and knowledge, transform ourselves and change mindsets from ‘Impossible’ to ‘Possible’ to be in line with TCP Group’s new purpose, ‘Energizing a Better World for All’.”

Dr. Royol Chitradon, Director and Secretary-General, Utokapat Foundation under Royal Patronage of H.M. the King, and Chairman of the Executive Committee, Hydro Informatics Institute (Public Organization), as the water management expert, spoke on ‘Innovation for Sustainable Water Management’: “While Thailand faces water crises every year (including flooding and drought), technology research and development and innovation in water management are crucial to ensure enough water supply for communities throughout the year. This includes coping with water issues systematically and efficiently. Effective collaboration between the public, private, local and community sectors who can share knowledge and expand rural engineering innovation with strategic partners will sustainably solve the country's water crises.”

Mr. Yash Lohia, Chairman of ESG Council at Indorama Ventures, highlighted the topic ‘The Groundbreaking ‘rPET’ Innovation: Creating New Opportunities with Circular Economy’: With a deep commitment to sustainability, we drive our strategy through structures, processes, and, most importantly, engagement by employees at all levels. Embedding sustainability into all our businesses is a key focus as our colleagues work tirelessly towards making IVL a future-ready organization. Building on our demonstrated leadership in environmental reporting, we have been promoting a more circular economy by increasing our presence in recycling and working closely with stakeholders to invest in our people and the planet through innovation and product development. As a proof point, we have committed to science-based targets and are sitting on the SBTi Expert Advisory Group for the Chemicals sector. To reach our goals, we are working on various green projects such as renewable energy, new decarbonization technologies, biofeedstock, chemical recycling and more.

In addition, a panel discussion on the topic ‘Co-Creating Sustainability with Innovation through Partnerships’ was held at the event, attended by Mr. Kajornsak Pliensakul, Supply Chain Division Director, TCP Group; Mr. Saroch Chayavivatkul, Managing Director, Thai Beverage Can Company Limited; Dr. Butra Boonliang, Head of Climate Resilience Office and Head of Technology Strategy and Portfolio Management, SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited; and Ms. Phakamon Supappunt, Director, Bureau of Carbon Market Promotion and Innovation, Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization).
