TCP Group received the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) 2024 in the Social Empowerment category for its outstanding initiative in strengthening society through the “TCP Embracing Thailand’s River Basin” project. This recognition highlights TCP Group’s commitment to the sustainable development of water resources. By collaborating with communities, the government, and partners, TCP Group effectively manages diverse water resources in Thai river basins, aiming to enhance environmental sustainability and promote sustainable quality of life and local economies. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Huan, Country Director of TCP Vietnam, and Mr. Aran Viravan, Head of Trade Marketing of TCP Vietnam, accepted the award on behalf of TCP Group at the ceremony held at the Hilton Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

The “TCP Embracing Thailand’s River Basin” project began in 2019 with the aim of restoring water to nature and the community, alleviating flooding and drought problems, and providing communities with adequate water sources for consumption. This initiative helps improve quality of life and local economies, and creates sustainable income for farmers. The project focuses on developing water sources in the Yom river basin, Bang Pakong river basin, and the Mekong river basin, with a goal of increasing water availability by more than 15 million cubic meters - over three times the amount of water used by TCP Group in its production process. The project has exceeded its target, successfully replenishing over 17 million cubic meters of water as of December 2023.
