TCP Group and GEPP set up a waste bank at Bang Khun Thian 2 revealing a successful 2021 bringing 1,100 kilograms of waste into the recycling system

TCP Group, in collaboration with GEPP SA-ARD Co., Ltd or GEPP Sa-Ard, a digital waste management platform, set up a waste bank at the National Housing Authority in Baan Eua Arthorn, Bang Khun Thian 2, in support of their Caring strategy to drive a circular economy and recycle as much post-consumer packaging as possible. The two companies revealed the success of their pilot project in 2021 which collected 1,127.80 kilograms of materials for recycling, creating 3,620 baht in revolving funding and reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 916.04 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent. Plans are underway to open 12 more waste banks by 2022.

In 2021, TCP and GEPP Sa-Ard collaborated on a feasibility to collect beverage packaging for recycling at the National Housing Authority in Baan Eua Arthorn, Bang Khun Thian 2 which received positive feedback. In 2022, this cooperation was extended to establish a waste bank in the area focusing on waste reduction through sorting and recycling. The Baan Eua Arthorn project covers a densely populated area. There are more than 30 buildings per project, requiring efficient waste management. A total of six waste banks were established as part of the Baan Eua Arthorn project with plans to establish an additional six projects in August covering areas in Bangkok and the surrounding vicinity.

Residents of Baan Eua Arthorn can deposit their recyclable materials, such as plastic and glass bottles, and aluminum and steel cans, at the waste bank and register through the GEPP Rewards application to collect points, which can be exchanged for TCP Group products and beverages to ease the cost of living. Meanwhile, the property managers looking after the buildings can learn valuable information on the recyclable waste, making waste management more efficient. Income from the sale of the collected waste goes towards public utilities achieving benefits for residents.
