31 March 2023

A delegation from Sichuan Province consisting of Sichuan Vice Governor, Yang Xingping, and members of the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, the Sichuan Provincial Market Supervision Administration, the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Work Committee, and Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu, Sirin Surathin, visited TCP Group Headquarters in Bangkok.

Saravoot Yoovidhya, CEO of TCP Group, and Supachai Junkeiat, President of TCP China, received the delegation at TCP Group Headquarters. During the tour of the facilities, Saravoot Yoovidhya welcomed the delegation and expressed his gratitude to the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, the Sichuan Provincial Government, the Neijiang Municipal Party Committee, and the Municipal Government for their support and guidance of TCP Group’s Red Bull production base in Sichuan. Supachai Junkeiat also delivered a detailed report to the delegation on the Group's business development in China and its future plans in Sichuan.

After listening to the report on TCP Group’s development, Vice Governor Yang talked of how the Sichuan government is paying close attention to the progress of TCP Group’s project in Sichuan. He also spoke of the long friendship between China and Thailand. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Thailand in 1975, economic exchange and trade between the two countries has continued to strengthen. After the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) came into effect in early 2022, the ASEAN and Chinese markets will continue to expand, creating even more opportunities for economic and trade partnerships between China and Thailand. Sichuan's rapidly growing consumer market, good location, and high-level opening-up will help top global companies such as TCP Group seize many high-quality development opportunities in the region.

Consul-General of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu, Sirin Surathin, said that the establishment of TCP Group’s Red Bull production base in Sichuan is a model for Sino-Thai economic and trade cooperation. With its large potential consumer market and good business environment, Sichuan is an ideal destination for Thai companies to invest in China. She also expressed her hope that TCP Group’s investment will help influence more Thai enterprises to invest in Sichuan.

TCP Group has invested around RMB 2 billion in its 66-acre Red Bull production base in Sichuan. The site will be constructed over three phases, where it will eventually consist of five Red Bull beverage production lines and other related facilities. The base will feature top of the line, high-speed, fully automatic production lines and fully automatic warehouses that will make the base one of China’s and most intelligent and energy-efficient production facilities. Once fully operational, the production base will have annual output of roughly 1.44 billion cans, equivalent to around RMB 5 billion. The project is expected to be completed in July this year and officially put into production in December.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Red Bull’s entry into the Chinese market. Drawing on the good business environment in Sichuan, TCP Group will continue unlock the potential of the Red Bull brand, support the creation of local jobs, and help the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
