TCP Group Attends the China International Consumer Products Expo for its Third Consecutive Year as Red Bull Celebrates 30 Years in China

The third China International Consumer Products Expo (Hainan Expo) opened in Haikou on April 10, 2023. As the inventor and owner of the global Red Bull brand and the “Red Bull” trademark, TCP Group returned to the Expo for its third consecutive year, bringing with it an exhibition featuring its classic gold-can-Red Bull products and a diverse portfolio of products from the ‘House of Great Brands’. This year marks the 30th anniversary of Reb Bull’s entry into the China market since TCP Group founder Chaleo Yoovidhya established the first Red Bull factory in China in Hainan. Standing at this milestone for the company, TCP Group hopes to leverage the Hainan Expo as platform to explore the new opportunities offered by the Hainan Free Trade Construction Port and work with Chinese consumers to ‘Energizing a Better World for All’.

Red Bull and its classic products continue to lead the energy drinks sector after 30 years deeply rooted in the China market

China has always been the most important investment market for TCP Group. With this year marking the 30th anniversary of Red Bull’s entry into the Chinese market, TCP Group exhibited at the Hainan Expo under the theme of ‘A Fresh Start Grounded in Our Values and 30 Years of Red Bull in China’. The exhibition looks back on TCP Group’s global success — from its origins in the Yoovidhya family’s ancestral home of Hainan, to its return to Hainan 30 years ago as it took root in China. It also highlights the many ways that TCP Group hopes to seize the new opportunities brought by the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port, its commitment to growing and innovating together with the island, as well as a combination of diverse product displays and engaging experiences designed to immerse visitors to the Expo in the company’s history and future.

Other diverse products from the ‘Home of Great Brands’ on show at the Expo include Ready, one of Thailand’s best-selling premium energy drinks, SPONSOR, Thailand’s number one electrolyte beverage, functional drink Mansome, delicious sunflower kernel snack Sunsnack, and many more.

Now synonymous with energy drinks worldwide, Red Bull products are among some of the top-selling beverages in over 170 countries and regions. In China, the classic gold-can Red Bull is also hugely popular and has become a star product in the market. Sharing new opportunities under the RCEP and supporting the high-quality construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port

Since entering the China market 30 years ago, TCP Group, as a representative of Thai enterprises investing in China, has been a participant, witness, and beneficiary of Hainan's rapid development. In 1993, TCP Group founder, Chaleo Yoovidhya, established the first Red Bull factory in China in the Yoovidhya family’s ancestral home of Hainan. The opening of the factory marked Red Bull’s official entry into the China market and paved the way for TCP Group to grow alongside the flourishing economy. Today, following the introduction of a broad catalogue of policies around the creation of the Hainan Free Trade Port, Hainan is becoming a new focal point for China’s opening-up to the world. With the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) having now been in effect for more than a year, the benefits of the partnership and China’s own steps towards opening-up continue to deliver benefits for companies in the region. Hainan Province itself has played an active role in the creation of the RCEP and free trade ports, and its unique geographical advantages and policies have become increasingly evident.
